LOGBOOK SERVICING

When buying a new car, the warranty that protects you from early mechanical faults is invaluable when it comes to protecting your peace of mind with your big purchase. Maintaining it requires regular servicing from a reputable auto workshop, and while many car dealers will try and convince you that this must be done at the dealership, you’re able to have these logbook services performed almost anywhere you please. So why put yourself through the hassle and added expense of a dealership servicing?

Associated Tyres & More is able to conduct logbook servicing on all makes and models of petrol, diesel, LPG and electric/hybrid vehicles, saving you the trip back to the dealership and the extra cost that entails while also preserving your new car warranty. If your new vehicle’s next scheduled service is approaching, contact us today to book your vehicle in.

STEERING & SUSPENSION

Your car’s handling and ride comfort tie particularly closely with how well your vehicle’s steering and suspension systems are maintained. Unresponsiveness or ‘play’ in your steering wheel can be traced back to problems with your steering systems, while ride comfort issues like body roll through corners are typically caused by a faulty suspension component.

Our team of experienced technicians can give your steering and suspension a complete service, from repairing and replacing springs, shock absorbers, bushings and coil-over suspension to maintaining your vehicle’s power steering system, as well as suspension lowering, the installing of lift kits and other 4WD upgrades. If you’d like to give your vehicle’s steering and suspension an inspection, book your vehicle in for a service by contacting us today.

BRAKES

Your vehicle’s brakes are your most important safety feature, but with the stop-and-start nature of city driving they’re also arguably the most subject to wear and tear as well. Worn out brakes have much less stopping power than ones kept in good condition, and can also have a detrimental effect on your vehicle’s handling and tyre wear if left unchecked.

Our team can inspect your vehicle’s brakes for problems, and fit replacement brake pads, rotors, drums and discs as required. We’re also able to machine custom-tailored parts specifically for your vehicle on-site, ensuring that your new components are a perfect match for your needs, as well as check your vehicle’s brake hoses for fluid leaks. For more information about our brake services or to book your vehicle in, give us a call today.

AIR CONDITIONING

Particularly in Australia, a properly functioning air conditioner in your vehicle is vital to driver and passenger comfort. Driving in our country’s warmer months without air con can be a nightmare. Like any other area of your car, your air conditioning system is subject to wear and tear, with cracks and leaks more likely to develop in cooler months with disuse of your vehicle’s climate control.

If your air conditioning isn’t blowing as coolly as it used to, we’re able to inspect your air conditioning unit for leaks and cracks, as well as fit replacement thermostats, hosing and seals, before giving your air con a re-gassing to keep your cabin cool all summer long. Contact us today if you’d like to know more.

TYRES

Choosing the right tyres isn’t always as simple as finding a good match for your vehicle; one also has to consider their driving style and environment. A softer compound of tyre will give you greater grip to the road than a harder compound at the cost of increased tyre wear, while the right tyre tread for drivers in dry environments might not be suitable for those more accustomed to wet weather conditions.

Associated Tyres & More stocks tyres for all makes and models of vehicle and driving conditions, from road cars and light commercial vehicles to small trucks and farming equipment, all from leading tyre manufacturers such as Bridgestone, Cooper, Dunlop, Pirelli, Yokohama and more. Your tyres will be fitted, balanced and aligned for minimal tyre wear, ensuring that your new set of rubber will last as long as possible. ROADWORTHY INSPECTIONS

If you want to sell your vehicle or transfer ownership of it to a third party, or if you want to re-register it after spending a lot of time off the road, your vehicle needs to be certified as roadworthy by a qualified mechanic or technician. This typically involves a safety check and inspection of your vehicle’s essential components, to ensure it’s ready for the road.

Associated Tyres & More is staffed by a VicRoads Licensed Vehicle Tester, able to conduct roadworthy inspections on all passenger cars and light commercial vehicles for drivers in Moorabbin, Cheltenham, Bentleigh and all surrounding areas.

To have your vehicle certified as roadworthy:

  • Book your vehicle in for a roadworthy inspection (RWC) by giving us a call on (03) 9583 6452, sending us an email via our contact page or talking to us in person at our workshop in Cheltenham.
  • Bring your car in for the inspection along with your drivers licence, and a licensed vehicle tester will assess your car. If the vehicle passes the inspection a Roadworthy Certificate will be issued.

If your vehicle fails the first inspection:

  • We will provide a list of items that will need to be rectified for the certificate to be issued. We will also provide you with a quote of the repair costs required.
  • Any required repairs are to be carried out within seven days of the failed inspection. Repairs can be carried out by our fully trained technicians or a workshop of your choosing.
  • Make a booking for a re-inspection. This must be done within seven days of the failed inspection. If the repairs are satisfactory and your vehicle passes the second inspection, a Roadworthy Certificate will be issued.

When selling or transferring ownership of your vehicle to a third party, an Application to Transfer Registration is also required. You may find it on VicRoads‘ website or by clicking here.
